Plano neighborhoods: closer in, closer to Dallas

Mostly 1970s and 1980s homes with alley garages, a historic downtown, and the shortest drive to Dallas.

Living in Plano

Plano neighborhoods are the closest in of any town I work. Plano is closer to Dallas, with US 75 and the Dallas North Tollway for the commute, and it has lots of restaurants and entertainment of its own.

It also has an older historic downtown that draws people in for dining. If you like the idea of an evening out without driving across the county, Plano makes that easy.

How I help buyers and sellers in Plano

Most Plano homes are forty or fifty years old, and buying one well means knowing what that age brings: updates that have or haven't been done, systems to inspect closely and floor plans to live with. I help buyers weigh the house against the location. See buying a home in Plano.

For sellers, the location is the selling point, and the photos and video need to make an older floor plan look its best. Here's how I sell a Plano home, or start with what your Plano home is worth.

Plano homes: 1970s and 1980s, alley garages

Most Plano homes were built in the 1970s and 1980s. Most have rear-entry alley driveways rather than front-entry garages, so the street side of the house is the front yard, not the garage door. That's different from a lot of newer neighborhoods further north, like Ridgecrest, where the garages all face the street.

What you give up choosing Plano

Usually a modern floor plan. Buyers who choose Plano are trading the open kitchens and big game rooms of new construction for a shorter commute and everything close by. If you want both, Allen and Frisco are the next step out.

Plano schools

School assignments in Plano depend on the specific address, and I confirm the district and schools for every home before you make an offer.
